CICO Resort

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially when we needed help finding facilities that weren’t clearly signposted. The food was good, too. Some facilities could use better upkeep, though: a few were a bit dirty, and some couldn’t be used anymore. It’s a small, comfortable resort with a relaxing natural setting, good for a quick break from the urban bustle of Bogor City. It’s a little outside the city center, but easy to reach by personal vehicle, and the road signs make it easy to spot.

It’s a nice natural place for a family vacation, and the service is good. Downtown is a bit far, which can be inconvenient if you’ve left something at home. The restaurant is small and doesn’t have much to choose from, and the food was average. Also, the shared bathroom has no hot water, which is pretty rough on a cold morning.

Cico offers a memorable chance to stay in one of Bogor’s remaining agroforest areas, right in the busy city. It’s a rare kind of resort, with dorms, meeting rooms, and villas tucked away from the urban bustle. Service is roughly at a three-star hotel level. Cico used to be a hub for Indonesia’s environmental movement, and it has facilities for environmental meetings and education while preserving that agroforest environment.

There’s lots of open space for outdoor activities like football or outbound, and the grounds are wide. It feels tucked away, but it’s still not too far out and is fairly easy to reach by car or motorcycle.
