Urbanview Hotel Sagara Bogor

The service was bad, so I wouldn't recommend staying here. They pressure guests to pay for an extra bed or a pool ticket, even for a child under 10.

There are only a few rooms. They're at the back, in the same location as Sagara swimming pool.

The restaurant has stopped operating, but there are plenty of nearby options: snack shops, food stalls, the Indomaret right across the road, and street vendors. After swimming, though, Indomie still hits the spot. The pool costs 50,000 Rupiah per visit. There's a big pool, around 1.5 meters deep and perhaps 2-3 meters at the far end, plus a shallower kids' pool around 50-100 cm. It has a little statue fountain. The water looks clean and is chlorinated, but getting some in your eyes is fine. The hotel itself is pretty underrated. The room was roomy, tidy, clean, and fairly affordable, with good lighting and a bathroom that didn't feel cramped. There was hot water, two bottles of mineral water, and you can ask reception for hot water to make instant noodles or coffee. There are large windows facing the residence and the pool, so people outside can see in unless that's what you want. It seemed soundproof while I was there, hehe. Getting there is normally easy, though since the landslide in Batutulis, the route has become a bit of a detour along a small road. Before, you could go via the area near Ekalos Bogor. Maybe the change is why the hotel feels fairly quiet. Parking is spacious, with room for motorcycles and cars, and it felt safe. You can book at the hotel or through the app. They ask for a 100,000 IDR deposit, or you can leave your original ID card at reception.

The good things are the clean rooms, the large pool with clear water, and all the food vendors outside. The rest of our stay was frustrating. The room lock was hard to open, Wi-Fi and a phone weren't available, and there was no hair dryer or kettle. The water heater was hit or miss. The room limit is two adults and one child. They still charge 200,000 Rupiah for an extra bed for a child, with no breakfast, which felt unreasonable. When we asked about booking another room, they said the hotel was full. Even when a room seemed available, they refused to rent it to us. At checkout, they asked whether we'd smoked, and said the 100,000 Rupiah deposit would be kept if anyone had smoked in the room. I'd read the one-star reviews before arriving, and the stories matched our experience.
