The Setumbu Experience ARTOTEL Curated

I was hoping for the in-room coffee machine I've found at other Artotel Group hotels, but there wasn't one here. Maybe that's because this hotel has only recently launched, and I hope they add one in the future. The room itself was new, downstairs, and had a lovely private balcony looking over the hills. For one night, the affordable price and short walk to the sunrise spot were good reasons to stay.

I could easily walk to one of the best sunrise spots from here, as long as I got up on time. The area we stayed in seemed new and was very clean, with a decent amount of room and a comfortable bed. It's peaceful, too. If you want to relax by the swimming pool in the fresh air, this place is a good fit. My new favorite in Magelang regency, and I'll definitely come back.

From the room, we could go straight to the pool and communal area, though the pool was being maintained during our visit. The shared spaces felt warm and comfortable, with tables and chairs for eating or hanging out, and the upstairs area in the main building had a homey feel. Our air-conditioned room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and fairly friendly. The hotel is serene, with views across the valley to the mountains and tourist spots like The Borobudur Temple nearby. Getting there means driving along narrow roads through a settlement. Parking is spacious, though the sloped area felt a little sketchy. It's a good base for a trip around Borobudur-Magelang-Yogyakarta, and exploring the area makes the visit worthwhile.

We felt really well looked after by the Setumbu Experience team, and breakfast was delicious. The service was superb, and the orthopedic bed and extra bed suited our family holiday. It was just what we wanted: slowing down, reading books, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Better than we'd expected. Many thanks!
