Bersila La Maison Du Bonheur By Zuzu

We stayed 8 days and found it great value for money. The resort has everything you need, and honestly we could have stayed there the whole time. Try Bersila la Maison du Bonheur! Our room was a hut facing the jungle, breezy enough that we slept fine without air conditioning. There was a mosquito net around the bed, and we bought coils as an extra precaution. The scenery was beautiful, though the insects come with it. The hotel restaurant serves excellent Indonesian food, definitely worth trying. Breakfast was included, tasty and basic, with pancakes, eggs, local fruit, coffee, and bread. It was handy since the nearest restaurant is a bit of a walk. The service was incredible, and we felt at home right away thanks to the lovely infinity pool and the welcoming person. The location worked well for us, away from tourists but with nice must-see spots within 15 minutes. We rented a scooter through the hotel.

The staff and customer support were friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience better. The quality was what I expected, and I had a very good time. I’d recommend it and would use it again.

We spent one night here on September 4, 2024. It was quiet, though we occasionally heard geckos during the night. The room we picked had no air conditioning because we assumed Tegalalang would be cool, but it was warmer than expected and took us a long time to fall asleep. The bathroom felt a little stuffy, as if it hadn’t been used for a while. Breakfast was a generous portion and quite tasty. We were happy with the stay overall, though the price seemed a bit high for the service.

The curtains had some mould, probably from the humidity, and the mosquito net smelled a little mouldy. That was the one real downside. Otherwise, I’d seriously recommend this place if you want quiet, scenery, and a comfortable stay. Our room at the bottom of the property meant a bit of a walk, but it was so worth it. It faced a small forest and stayed pleasantly breezy, so we didn’t need air conditioning. We bought mosquito coils just to be safe, too. We booked a Queen bed but got a big King Bed, which was a nice touch. The staff were lovely, Wi-Fi worked great for calling home, and the restaurant served traditional meals. Breakfast, when included, came in a decent portion. Elephants were not too far away, and while there aren’t as many shops on this side, they’re still a short drive away.
