The care from the team stood out from the start. Even arriving in the rain, we were welcomed warmly, and arranging airport pickup and communicating beforehand was easy. They handled our requests with real kindness. We loved waking up to rice fields and far-off mountains from our private plunge pool and outdoor seating area. The villa was spacious, clean, and built with lovely Balinese details, from the carved wood to the garden path and courtyard. For our anniversary, the staff set up a flower bath that felt personal and was such a thoughtful surprise. The gym was another welcome bonus: clean, roomy, and better equipped than we expected for a small villa. We felt looked after throughout, and left grateful for the stay.

The property is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but poor upkeep and a lack of attentive staff got in the way. Our bathroom lights needed work, and even the door took two days to get fixed after we asked for help. When I asked about bottled water, staff told me, “This is a gym, we don’t serve water here.” Using my hair dryer also kept cutting the power, so someone had to come fix it each time. It’s a shame such a thoughtfully designed place isn’t being maintained or staffed with more hospitality.

I lived here for a few months in 2020 and absolutely loved it. It felt like bliss. There was a lovely brown cat who lived there, and I called her Alma. Is she still around? I think about her a lot 🥹😺

The staff were helpful, and their Babur Ayum was delicious. It’s a lovely place to get away from busy Ubud. Our room looked over the rice fields, where we could watch local farmers at work, and there was direct access to the fields too. A restaurant and bar are down the road, with a laundry right next door. The people there were so friendly. Thanks for having us, this place gets a 10/10 from me.

The pool was the only good part for us. The rest was terrible: this beautiful property is badly maintained and understaffed, and the staff weren’t attentive. We couldn’t even get drinking water. There’s plenty of room for improvement.
