Hotel Maninjau Indah

The room was spacious and clean during my 4 days and 3 nights here, from just before Eid to right after. Sandals and toiletries were available if I asked. The café and restaurant had tasty food at reasonable prices. The café was open from 10 AM to 8 PM, or 9 PM on weekends, which worked well for casual meals. There were quite a few issues. The bathroom had no water heater, which may be uncomfortable for some people. I got only one room key, so I had to ask the front desk whenever I wanted the room cleaned. The in-room phone didn’t work, and the lighting was dim. The TV had few local channels and no cable, and scanning manually didn’t help. The safe, or brankas, was only available on request. There was no proper desk, which made working during my stay difficult. It would help to have water heaters, at least two keys for shared rooms, and working phones and better lighting. A desk and more TV options would also make a longer stay or remote work easier, as it was for me.

In mid April, this seemed to be the only place open for lunch in Maninjau. The main restaurant was being refurbished, so we ate at the café near the pool instead. We had nasi goreng and milkshakes. There weren't any other guests around. For a quick dip in the pool, we paid 75k IdR per person, which included a towel and ice tea.

The room was hot, the service was poor, and the extra bed was very overpriced. The whole place felt overpriced for the quality of service. You can choose a better hotel around here.

The view was incredible, but the room and facilities were horrible. The parking area was quite small, and nobody helped us park the car. It’s an old-school hotel.
