Please look at other guests’ reviews before booking. My room was dirty, and the shower was broken. The food was bland, with very few options, and there was no internet or Wi-Fi. The power went out at night, and there was no generator. Staff had left from 7 pm, leaving one person who couldn’t be reached. I also had a troubling incident during my stay, so anyone traveling alone should be cautious. I hope they improve the service, especially how they respond to guest calls.

The setting is beautiful and peaceful, right by the beach, and our basic hut had the salty tap water we expected. We had a quiet first night and enjoyed it enough to stay longer. Still, several problems made the rest of the stay difficult. On the weekend, Indonesian families nearby were up around 5 am, with children shouting and screaming, so sleeping was impossible. Another morning, loud restaurant music and employees woke us at 6 am. I asked them to turn it down, but the day was already spoiled. They also burned rubbish in the garden in front of our room, and the toxic smell came inside in the morning. We’ve seen this in Asia before, but people pay to find peace, not wake up to piles of burning trash. We arrived on Monday around 8:30 pm hoping to find a bungalow. The gates were shut and the place looked closed. Local people had to call around for a while before they found a manager. The phone number didn’t work, which seemed strange for a guesthouse. When we got in, it was empty of guests but full of employees. We love the place and would be glad to return if the service improves.

A nice spot for group or company activities, with soft pale sand right by the beach. Pine trees and other plantations nearby provide plenty of shade when the afternoon gets hot. Since it sits in a bay, there are prawn farms around. The little cliff at the side makes a good photo spot, and you can see Tunak Ecological Tourism Center from there.

We stopped by for drinks and some time to relax on the beach. It was lovely and empty, with nobody else there while we enjoyed it. The mixed juice and iced coffee were tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly. A secret little spot.

Back in 2015, we stayed for three days and two nights, and had a terrible time. The cottage was filthy, with holes that let mosquitoes and cockroaches in. Even the towels had blood and poop stains from previous guests. Wild dogs roamed around and tried to get at our food. There was no Wi-Fi then, and the food was so bad we skipped it. You’d need a scooter to find something else to eat. The beach was so dirty that we didn’t go in the water. I hope things improved over the next three years, but that was our experience.
