We had such a peaceful stay at Only You Villa’s, and our only wish was that we’d booked longer. Villa A was pretty and private, with ocean views. We woke to the sunrise, waves, birds, and roosters. It’s great for a couple, or a couple with a child. Someone else could sleep downstairs on the daybed, but it isn’t enclosed, so there’s no privacy there. Gede and Kadek were outstanding and friendly, helping us get a bike, snorkelling gear, and transport. Lipah beach is very close, and we saw lots of pretty fish and a turtle or two most days. Other snorkelling spots are just a short drive away. There are plenty of good places to eat at or near the villa and at the end of Lipah beach. For more food and shopping options, town is a short bike ride away. We also liked Joli Best View and See you Again cafe for sunset dinner overlooking the volcano and bay. Everything was well priced.

We came in July as a family of 10, including four children aged 4-7, and spent a week in the large villa by the water. It suited our group perfectly, and the villa was even prettier than the photos. Wayan and his team were wonderful hosts, and it was easy to arrange everything with Wayan over Whatsapp, from airport transport before arrival to laundry, shuttles, and breakfast. He also drove us into Amed when the truck was available or arranged local drivers. The kids loved the pool, though it’s a little deep, so swim vests are a good idea for younger ones. Adults could swim and snorkel off the rocky beach. The beds were very comfortable, and we fell asleep to the ocean. We loved the outdoor showers too. You can order breakfast from the warung at the top of the drive for relaxed mornings, or walk down to Lipah in 10 minutes. There’s a great massage place around the corner, delicious local warungs, and a supermarket and pharmacy a couple of minutes away. One accessibility note: the big villa is down a steep driveway. We can’t recommend it enough.

We booked the one-bedroom villa with a private pool at OnlyYou Villas, and I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. The place is terrific. You enter through a gated garden to your own pool, then step into a sitting area. Beside it is a well-equipped kitchenette with a full fridge, propane burners, tea and coffee kettle, dishes, and utensils. The bed is tucked behind the sitting area with a mosquito net. Halfway up the stairs, the bathroom has two lovely outdoor showers. Upstairs, the spacious master bedroom has a high ceiling, a comfortable netted bed, and a sitting area opening onto a private balcony with an ocean view. It’s nicely decorated without being overdone. The staff were top notch. Wayan picked us up from the airport and became our go-to for anything we needed. He and the team took great care of us with breakfast deliveries, in-room massages, and shuttles to local beaches and a great sunset spot. You can rent snorkel gear for 50k rupiah a day, but return it when you’re done so you aren’t charged for days you don’t use. The staff can also arrange scooters if you’re brave enough. A warung at the top of the property offers dine-in and room service, and the food was tasty. We also took a cooking class with the owner. It was a delight, worth every penny, and the meal we made was delicious. The walk to the beach is easy, but it’s very rocky and not good for swimming without water shoes. It’s beautiful at sunrise, though, so I recommend getting up for it. The property is away from central Amed, with few other restaurants within walking distance besides the warung, and this hilly part of Amed isn’t very walkable. The shuttle into town helps, but for nightlife you’ll need a ride or your own villa party. Our whole stay was terrific, and I’d make the effort to return to Amed just to stay here again.

We had a lovely pool and clean, spacious rooms, and the beach was easy to reach. The restaurant beside the villas brings breakfast right to your room, and serves tasty local dishes in the evening. It’s a great spot to relax away from city noise and crowds.

Only You is a small resort perched on a hillside by the sea, with beautiful cottages, generous space and private plunge pools that are perfect for lounging with a Bintang and a book. The views are incredible, and the staff are friendly. It’s very peaceful around here. There isn’t much of a beach along this stretch of coast, though the little restaurant shack sits right by the water. The food is simple but tasty. If you want a mega resort with manicured gardens, icy AC and lots of activities, this probably isn’t your kind of holiday.
