Wayan House Seminyak

It was hard to relax here because the family who runs the place, including the children, parents and grandparents, all live on site and spend time together in the courtyard. You hear their activities constantly, so it feels more like staying in someone's home than in a hotel, and I felt as if I was intruding. They aren't bad people, but I can't recommend a stay here.

The room also had a gap around the closed door, so mosquitoes could get in. The sheets were stained, and the curtains had lots of marks and felt dirty. The shower head sprayed in every direction instead of straight. I only changed its angle, but the water pressure made it fall, and the head broke away from the pipe. When I reported it, the man was loud and rude and told us to pay. I explained that it had fallen by itself, not because we'd slammed it down, and that it seemed like an old shower head. A brand new one wouldn't break just from hitting the floor. The way he handled it was extremely unprofessional.

I've stayed here twice and would happily come back. It's a peaceful place, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a shared kitchen where you can make coffee. Breakfast is included, and the staff are really friendly.

The room was spotless and spacious, the staff were kind, and the Seminyak location was great. You can have the room cleaned every day if you want. Breakfast was good too, though the cat got into ours one morning. The staff replaced it right away. There's a dog at the end of the lane by the entrance that barks when you walk down at night. It can feel a bit intimidating. I don't think that's the accommodation's fault, and they did try to address the issue, so I've added the fifth star.
