Art Canggu Village

The biggest issue is the shortcut alley beside the place. Motorbikes pass from 7am to midnight, which can make it hard to sleep. Communication can also be slow. WhatsApp, using the number posted on the hotel door, works better than Airbnb, where replies are choppy and delayed. You can also find the owner or one of his kids at the GMart next door. Bayu’s place, listed on Airbnb as “Art Canggu Village,” is a comfortable budget option near Canggu’s busy area and worth the price, with some good perks. The room has plenty of outlets, a comfortable bed, working A/C, hot water in the shower, and a mini-fridge. The shared kitchen has what you need for cooking, including cutlery, a gas stove, a cutting board, plates, bowls, and spices. There’s also a nice shared pool with flotation devices. I’d rate it 4/5 stars.

Pak Gus and his family, Ibu, Bayu, Satria, the twins, and Andika made me feel at home when I was really missing it. They’d ask how my day went and how business was going. Andika worked incredibly hard to keep the place clean and would chat with me during his breaks. The place was clean and safe, with CCTV coverage, and I’d recommend it even for a long-term stay. Most of the other guests were friendly but introverted, so we mostly exchanged smiles and had little chats. Thank you, Pak Gus and family. I miss you all and Art already. Send my love to Mickey too. A comfortable, very clean apartment with a cozy bed and everything you need. Good value for the money.

The location is convenient, close to a minimarket and lots of cafés around Canggu. For the price, the room and facilities are pretty worthwhile. My main issue was that staff weren’t always around, which made check-in and check-out difficult.
