For what I paid, less than 100K for a bed in a single dorm, this was a great deal. They even include breakfast and dinner, and the staff were super helpful. I loved the daybed too. The place is right in central Canggu, close to everything, but tucked into a quiet area with lots of greenery and a view of the paddy fields. I’ll definitely come back next time I visit Canggu.
Great option for backpackers, especially with breakfast and dinner included. The hospitality was really good. Arman helped me a lot at check-in and made the whole process so seamless. I still wonder how this hostel can be so cheap. Worth a try, and don’t forget to bring a sejadah.
I only meant to stay a few days, but ended up staying a month. Out of the 10 hostels I tried, The Hide Hostel was the best experience in Canggu. The staff help with any problems, and if you want to relax, you can. They put on something most evenings, like group games or parties inside or outside the hostel. The rooms are well soundproofed, so you can sleep without hearing whatever’s going on outside. They also provide breakfast and dinner. If you enjoy meeting locals, I recommend it.
The people were friendly and it seemed like a very social hostel, so you might still have a good time if comfort and cleanliness aren’t priorities. For us, though, Hide Hostel felt chaotic, and the photos were really misleading about what the place was actually like. The rooms smelled bad, the sheets were stained, and there was no toilet paper or towels. Most of the lockers were broken, which made it difficult to secure our things.
The included breakfast and dinner were a plus, and the location was good, but I expected better hygiene and a tidier room. The pool didn’t seem usable because the water was dark and dirty, and the surroundings looked messy rather than green as pictured. I didn’t see any cameras, so it didn’t feel safe. The dorm was crowded and uncomfortable, with 12 beds in one room even though the online listing showed 6-8. It was messy and smelled of shoes, and the bedsheets weren’t clean. I’d advise girls against choosing a mixed dorm, as it felt unhygienic and untidy. Most of the people staying there were Indonesian and often spoke among themselves in their own language rather than welcoming me. I felt a bit insulted, as though they might be talking about me. This was my first hostel stay, during Nyepi, and it left me with a good impression of hostels only if they’re like this one.
