Ketapang Guesthouse Echo Beach Canggu

I had a really enjoyable stay here and would happily recommend it as a budget option. The owner, Layla, keeps a close eye on things and clearly wants guests to have a good visit. The accommodation is spacious, and the rooms are about what you'd expect for this price range. If you mainly need a decent bed and a shower, it does the job. It's near the beach with lots of places to eat close by, and Nur has been doing my laundry for months without ever missing a beat. The upper floors give you a nice view over the Como, though getting there means a good workout on the stairs 😁

It's a budget-friendly spot in a good location, close to market street, the beautiful beach, and La Barisa Beach Club, but I wouldn't stay again. The rooms are large, which was good, though cleanliness was poor. The toilets had old stains, the shower was rusty and dated, and the bathroom door was very stiff. There were lots of mosquitoes in the room. They sprayed repellent after I complained, and it helped somewhat. The towels were torn, and no water bottles were provided.

A lovely, sweet place with fairly large rooms for a low price. It's a handy base for surfing, with a surf spot almost beside the beach area, and you can rest at night before getting back out in the morning. It's also a nice starting point for exploring around the area.

The only real plus is the location. The room looked nothing like the pictures, had no windows, and the beds were rock hard. The toilet and shower were left in a disgusting state, and there was no hot water. When I asked the staff, they said hot water isn't provided. People from la brisa also use the lane outside the rooms for breaks, so their loud conversations carry inside. 1/10.
