I appreciated how quickly Maria dealt with the ants, and she was great to communicate with on WhatsApp. The Japanese-style accommodation was unusual for us, but we wanted to try something different in beautiful Bali. Staying at Griya De Sachi was harder than expected, though. There was no towel change, and with staff also having breakfast in the kitchen we weren’t sure if guests were meant to use it, so it didn’t feel private. Some parties next door also kept us from sleeping well. There weren’t other staff around when we needed help. Thank you personally, Maria, for helping us during the stay. Suksma. Terry and James

The rice field views and walks were lovely, and there are fruit stands and noodle shops close by in the local community. It’s a cute hut away from Canggu’s touristy scene, though the 24/7 supervision means it isn’t completely private. The staff were sweet and always trying to help, and they met my needs, even bringing me coconut and iced tea. You can also get Grab or Gojek to deliver food. I stayed upstairs, which I liked. The bedding and furniture felt new and clean, and the Japanese-inspired style made me feel like I was in Japan. I loved being able to leave the doors open and look out at all the green when it rained. Mornings were a bit loud because of the roosters, but that’s normal and I’ve experienced it in many places in Bali.
