Aston Cirebon Hotel & Convention Center

We ended up leaving Aston Cirebon before the two nights we had booked were over. The first room had an AC that wasn’t working properly, so the staff moved us to an Executive Suite. I appreciated that response, but the suite still didn’t feel like what I’d expect from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom flooded after a shower because of the drainage and layout, and the room itself felt clinical and uncomfortable. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but this layout was the first to make me uneasy instead of relaxed. The overall stay also didn’t feel worth the rate. When we checked out early, nobody at the front office asked why or requested feedback. Even a simple question would have shown some care and professionalism. There’s potential here, but the experience fell short of a 4-star standard.

The children had plenty to do here, from the mini zoo and horse riding to basketball and archery, and the swimming pool was excellent. I’d planned to try the golf facilities, but was happy to miss them while accompanying the kids around the hotel. We also ate well, with tasty food and a good range of options. Throughout our stay, the staff were warm and attentive. Mr. Seven, the duty manager, made our arrival easy with especially helpful service. Aston Cirebon Hotel & Convention Center was a delightful place for our family, and I’d highly recommend it for a stay in Cirebon.

The pool seems made for children, and there’s no separate spot for adults to swim or relax. It got very noisy and crowded during the holidays, so even my 18-year-old daughter decided to skip swimming. This feels better suited to families with young children than to couples or families with older kids looking for a quiet break. Our room was roomy and comfortable, with good amenities. Breakfast tasted nice and had plenty of choices, though I couldn’t find beef or fish, and the local empal asam had more offal than meat. In the bathroom, the hot water had decent pressure but wasn’t warm enough for me. The soundproofing was poor too, as we could clearly hear water and other noises from the neighboring room. There’s no Netflix.

The twin room was spacious, and the toilet was roomy and clean. Breakfast had a great range of dishes, and Nuryani was a cheerful, kind server during the morning meal. I stayed here for three days and two nights for my company Kick Off Meeting, and would recommend it as a place to rest on a getaway.
