Desa Alamanis Resort Vila

We chose this hillside resort for a short holiday because it has wooden villas, is fairly close to the toll road, and was about a three-hour drive from home. A helpful security guard welcomed us and carried our luggage to the lobby. Check-in went smoothly, and we got help taking our bags uphill to the room. Getting around the villa was challenging, though. There are many stairs, which could be hard for older people, people with disabilities, or toddlers. The steps could also get slippery when it rained. Our room was spacious enough for five, with a terrace and dining room. The bed was comfortable, and the AC, internet, and TV all worked well. But mosquitoes bit me. I already had two bites when we arrived and got more afterward. The bathroom was open to the outdoors and roomy, but mosquitoes came in, and rain came through too. During heavy rain, the floor got wet all over and could be slippery. We had mixed feelings about the food. Breakfast and room service had limited choices. Some dishes, such as lontong opor and mie tektek, were good, but many others were bland or even bad. Dining service was uneven: sometimes prompt, other times slow or not carried out at all. The surroundings were green and refreshing, and we enjoyed walking around, while taking care on the slippery paths after rain. We used the pool too. It wasn’t large, but was sufficient for us. At checkout, staff helped carry our luggage back to the car. Staying in this secluded villa in a man-made village surrounded by greenery was an interesting experience.
