Rion Hostel Bogor

A nice, affordable option for someone traveling alone. You can walk to Kebun Raya Bogor and Botani Square, and the neighborhood has a bit of Bogor’s urban feel without being too noisy. The room and bathroom were tidy and clean, and the hot water worked well. I liked having a mineral water dispenser on every floor. Bring your own tumbler and towel.

There’s a bar upstairs where you can order food or drinks day or night, and the pool and shared kitchen areas are nice. The staff are friendly and helpful, the location is near the center and within walking distance of the main sights. The place is quite new, with small but clean, well-equipped rooms and drinking water on each floor. Nothing seemed to be missing from the facilities. But sleep was a real problem. Mosques are very close, especially Bogor’s main one, and the noise made decent rest unbearable. I lived here for almost two years and couldn’t get used to it. Construction right next door added all-day banging from workers on top of the prayers. It’s a shame, because the place is good, but it can’t do its main job of letting you rest. The room Wi-Fi was weak too, barely reaching.

The pool was a lifesaver after long days of sightseeing and walking around. We loved staying at the hostel. The cook made amazing food and was very sweet, and the lady in charge was kind and helped us a lot with planning our trip.

The owner was so sweet, often bringing us fresh fruit as a little treat. The staff were genuinely welcoming, and our room was clean and had everything we needed. The place is new and clearly well looked after. We had a really relaxing stay in Bogor and would definitely recommend it.
