Asoka Hotel & Suite

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the cafe serves great food. The hosts at Asoka are wonderful, some of the most hospitable people I’ve met. They also made things convenient by helping me book a scooter and a boat at a very reasonable price.

I had a great four-night stay. I let them know I’d be arriving around 1-2 am, and there was no problem. I was greeted at the door and shown to my room. The pool facilities were clean, the room was spacious and nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. It’s a convenient location and good value for money. I’d stay again when I return to Sanur.

The family running the hotel were very kind and attentive, and the location is very close to the beach, a really nice local warung, and the mijn street right next to the place. I booked it as a stop before my other hotel, but I have a few concerns. My bed felt moist and was filthy. Stains or a yellowish look on the covers from the local water would be one thing, but the damp feeling wasn’t okay. I was tired and arrived late, so I didn’t complain, and used a towel to sleep on top of the damp linen. Paying 33 euro for one night and finding a moist bed and signs of moisture in the bathroom isn’t acceptable. I’m sorry, but I have to warn other people so they can decide for themselves.

The owner even tracked me down after my snorkeling trip because I’d left something behind, kept it safe, and returned it that evening. That honesty says a lot. Earlier, he’d also arranged breakfast for 6:50 AM, before the usual time, since I had to leave early. It was fresh, beautifully served, and among the best I tried in Bali. I was only at Asoka Hotel & Suite from 8 PM to 7 AM, but the room was clean and comfortable, and I spent a relaxing evening by the lovely pool. The owner welcomed me warmly, and Krishna Oleh Oleh is close by for some evening shopping. It was a short visit that left a really good impression. I’d happily return.
