Bali Wirasana Inn

We had room 108 (renovated) and would definitely stay again. It's very quiet, the location is spot on, and the air conditioning worked a treat in the heat. The beach is a short stroll away through the alley across the road. The pool felt hot in the blazing sun. Great value, and we'd recommend it. Whoever complains should stay home! Only downside was that the fridge could be bigger.

The staff were friendly, but I had a bad checkout experience during my work trip. The place is simple, central, and budget-friendly, fine if you're out most of the day. The room had two umbrellas, both damaged already. After one broke, I replaced it with another of the same color and size. The receptionist still insisted I pay because it didn't have the hotel's branding, quoting a replacement cost worth half the room rate for a basic umbrella. Bali was having heavy wind, rain, and flooding at the time. At my next hotel in Sanur, Puri Mesari Hotel, I saw a guest return a broken umbrella and the staff just waved it off, saying ‘It’s on the house.’ That felt like hospitality. If you stay here, maybe bring your own umbrella, preferably one with the hotel’s logo already on it.

For 850,000 per night, this made our vacation really unpleasant. The air conditioners were very poor quality and seemed 20 years old, noisy, and the rooms smelled of mold. The bathroom outlets didn't work, and the cheap kettle smelled like burnt plastic when boiling. The pool had so much chlorine that we couldn't wash our child for 40 minutes. We ended up using dishwashing liquid instead of soap and shampoo.

I liked having a porch looking out over the pool, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean, with plenty of hot water and the air conditioning we needed. The pool area was quiet, with a bar nearby.
