Ganandra Stay Denpasar

The room was gloomy because its window was in a separate area from the bed, and it felt like a dungeon. At least it stayed cool. The shower head sprayed across to the opposite wall when fixed to its mount, though it worked if held by hand, and there was plenty of hot water. The sheets and towels were dirty, the room smelled awful, and one corner of the bed had a particularly bad odor. There were termites in the desk and bedside table. Staff were helpful when we had trouble with the AC. The location wasn’t great: a couple of nice cafes were nearby, but not much else.

The common areas were generally cleaned every day, and the location was quiet and convenient. But after almost two months here, I left before my contract ended because I could no longer sleep. My room was dark, with its window in an attached room, and it was moldy. The sink was inside the room rather than the toilet. The blankets were stained, and the pillows smelled terrible, as if they were already rotten. The walls seemed paper thin, so I could hear everything next door. The biggest problem was a family of five placed in three rooms beside mine. Three of them were teenage girls who were loud every night until 3 a.m., moving between rooms and constantly opening and closing doors. I asked them several times to quiet down, but they didn’t care. I told the owner, who apparently moved some of them across the corridor, but that barely helped since they just had farther to go while making noise. After my last complaint, I asked to change floors. They questioned whether I was too sensitive and whether the same thing might happen there. I said I’d had no problems with other guests before the girls arrived.

It’s cheap, though there are better places. Our sheets were dirty, and there was no toilet paper. When we asked for more, a staff member laughed a little and said they were out. Was there no toilet paper anywhere in the building? Sometimes the toilet wouldn’t flush either.

Nice place, good rooms, and good service. Everything was good!
