Akaya Bali

We found the Akaya a comfortable little hotel in a great spot. Everything about it was excellent, and we’re planning to return on our next Bali trip.

The hotel was quiet while I was there, and the pool was a good size. It’s also used for diving classes. The staff were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping was efficient. My room was clean and comfortable. There were power trips on one night and water interruptions on another, though. That shouldn’t be an issue if you sleep through the night.

The restaurant out front is great, and breakfast was delicious and easy to order. People even came in off the street for breakfast. All the staff were amazing, checking in as they passed to see if I needed anything. Maria deserves special thanks: she was at the front desk and made everything easy, from check-in to explaining how to order breakfast. I also saw her deal with some rather unpleasant, entitled travelers with incredible grace and poise. Seems a bit of a waste to have her at the front desk. I’d recommend staying here.

Breakfast was excellent, and the restaurant food was great in general. They also serve great coffee, and fresh coconuts are a fantastic item on the menu. We had a brilliant stay at this intimate hotel. The rooms were perfect, and the staff felt like one big family.
