The food was brilliant and really cheap. I especially liked the noodles. The staff were lovely and treated us like family, and the tour with Franco was good too. I wouldn’t have guessed it was his first time. The rooms were very clean, though the bathroom and sink were only bearable, not especially clean. The shower was cold, and there was no toilet paper in the toilet, but I didn’t mind. Shops and other things are within walking distance, though it’s not a very touristy area. The locals were friendly and helpful. I’d stay again 😊

Gandhi hostel is a family-run place, and they made me feel like I belonged with them. Leaving Bali this morning was sad, especially having to say goodbye to the family. This will definitely be my home base here. Denpasar might feel a little intimidating at first, but I found this part of Bali really nice. It isn’t a tourist mess, and it’s fairly close to the tourist areas. It’s a peaceful spot if you like quiet. The people were helpful and kind, the hostel was clean, and the food was both delicious and cheap. Best hostel in Bali.

Living under the same roof as the family made me feel at home, and everyone was very nice. There’s also a lovely upper terrace outside the rooms with a Hindu temple. It’s a cheap place to stay in Bali. There are only two small bathrooms, and the shower runs slowly. For the price, though, that’s absolutely acceptable.

The one real upside is how very cheap it is. The air conditioning advertised on bookings was broken, and I doubt the power system could have supported it anyway. The electricity was very unstable, cutting out about every 15 minutes. There was only a cold shower, and the bathroom smelled.

I stayed here in August and still remember the time I had at this hostel. It was lovely, with awesome staff, and it’s the cheapest hostel I’ve ever stayed in.
