Kubu Nyoman Villas

We stayed in a one-bedroom studio apartment with a kitchen and bathroom, right by the pool. The pool was very clean and maintained every day. A Balinese family lives on the property, and they were friendly and helpful. It’s a peaceful place, great for a longer stay. I recommend it.

We planned to stay for a month, but left on the very first day. The owner had promised to install a stove, then brought one of those camping stoves instead. The place was very noisy, and at 10 pm they were still making a lot of noise. When we commented, they reacted aggressively. We left that night, which was definitely the right decision. We arrived with a small child after agreeing with the owner in advance that we’d get there at 11 in the morning. The doors were locked and nobody was expecting us. We stood in the sun for 20 minutes with the child in our arms, knocking until the hosts’ helper came out and let us in. The owner then asked for the rest of the accommodation payment and immediately gave us a huge list of rules that they didn’t follow themselves. He said that since we lived with them, we had to follow their rules and had no right to have a say. The owners are aggressive and, in my view, crazy. I don’t understand where the good reviews come from, they seem bought and paid for. I recommend not even reading them.

The landlords were really warm and nice, and everything else was perfect. The Wi-Fi has that Bali-style habit of sometimes refusing to work. The shower was a problem: only cold water, and the drain is at the highest point, so the water doesn’t run away. I slipped badly once and nearly hit my head on the floor or toilet. Not funny! There’s no soap or shampoo either.

The owners were some of the nicest people I’ve met, and they were very helpful. Our room was clean, and the air conditioner got nice and cold during the day. We had a perfect stay and I’d recommend it 100%.
