Sanur Art Villas

The staff were really friendly and attentive, and the hotel is close to markets and the beach. My ground-floor room opened directly onto the pool, which I shared with the room next door. The pool was pretty much all mine, kidding, I only had to swim naked to put them off using it. The bed was comfy and the air conditioner was a boss. Breakfast was enjoyable, and the restaurant has a small but decent menu. Room service is available, and you can hire scooters. There’s no streaming or movie channel, and the rooms could use a little renovation, but for a 3 star hotel the rooms are big.

The friendly, helpful staff made the stay feel welcoming, and the villas were clean, relaxing, and well equipped. There’s plenty of room, it’s comfortable, and the artistic touches give the place a lovely feel. A great spot in Sanur for a peaceful break.

The staff were great, but we left after just one night of the five we’d booked and found another hotel. There was no air conditioning downstairs, only a fan, and it was too hot for us to use the space. The water stopped running; staff fixed it, but by morning the toilet was blocked, so we decided to go. I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels and wouldn’t recommend this one.

The villa looked nothing like the photos, so be prepared to lower your expectations. With the air conditioning on, the room was still about as hot as outside, around 31°C. Staff said there was no AC problem, wouldn’t move me to another room, and refused my refund. They didn’t help, so I had to leave and sort everything out myself. Very disappointing, and I can’t recommend this property.
