Sanur Seaview Hotel

The loud noise really spoiled the stay. Both days were super noisy because of the mote festival, then on Sunday night there was a huge party with loud, bad music. On the last night, one guest kept slamming the glass door while going in and out of his room and drinking beer. The place needs upgrades. Breakfast was below average, and the pancake was rubbery. There were no coffee facilities, the geyser and fridge didn't work, and the door lock was troublesome. We arrived before our friends and were made to pay before seeing the dump. There was no hairdryer until we asked, no ice, and no bar or restaurant after breakfast. The shower taps shocked my hands. They provide just one towel per person, and we had to ask for swim towels. The pool loungers had no cushions or mattresses until we were leaving, and the pool could have been cleaner.

The breakfast was included and just right for us, and the coffee was great. We had early starts most mornings for scuba diving, so the staff arranged breakfast before the kitchen opened. That wasn't a request we'd normally make, but it was our only way to eat before heading out. They also gave us good directions, helped with what we needed, warned us where not to eat to avoid Bali belly, and recommended affordable lunch and dinner options. The service was next to none, and all the staff were lovely and helpful. The grounds and pool were kept very well, with beautiful, tidy gardens. The room was older and could use a little TLC, though I suppose most places do after the last natural disaster.

The hotel is old, but it's very clean, the staff are helpful, and Mertasari beach is just a five-minute walk away.

I was happy enough here to keep extending my stay. It's a calm, quiet place with friendly staff and comfortable rooms. The one thing I missed was a kettle or any hot water.
