Sekar Waru Homestay

The garden with its koi fish was lovely, and the rooms were clean. It’s a traditional Balinese style house, and we had no complaints. Complimentary water and the cleanliness made it stand out from other places we’ve stayed. I’d highly recommend this homestay, 10/10.

I had such a peaceful, restorative stay at Sekar Waru Homestay. It’s tucked away from the busy streets, with a lovely green garden where I could sit and unwind, yet the beach was still close enough to reach on foot or by bike. Wira and his family were so warm and considerate from the moment I arrived, and made me feel right at home. It’s simple, restful, and has what you need. Thanks, Wira and family!

We only stayed one night, booking on the same day, and got a quick reply to our WhatsApp message. The family running this homestay were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Everything was clean, the garden was well kept, and the room had fresh air and a balcony view from the upper floor. It was very quiet and not far from the beach. We’d stay here again when we’re back in Sanur.

I spent a month in a deluxe room at the front of the property. The family were lovely and happy to help with whatever I needed. I could rent a bike there for 25K a day (aug 2025). Each small compound had a shared kitchen with utensils, a fridge, and a drinking water tap. The room was basic but practical, with great air conditioning and a nice hot shower. They cleaned it well every 2-3 days, and were flexible if I wanted a different schedule. The mattress may feel too firm for some. Being in a front deluxe room also meant being near the road, so loud motorbikes sometimes woke me. There could also be a whole chorus of frogs in the koi pond, though they only make a racket when they feel like partying 😅 For the price and location, Sekar Waru Homestay was wonderful. I hope I can return! 🙏
