The staff were good and helped get me out of that Kanjeng Suite nightmare. The place is decent for the price, though the sink smells really bad. There’s no soundproofing, so you can hear both the road outside and the neighbors.

I booked through Airbnb and paid too much, AUD $110 for 2 nights. I asked the owner about the WIFI speed, and he said it reached up to 100mps. In my room I only got between 0.5 and 8mps, averaging about 3-4mps. I was working and needed fast internet, so I wish he’d been more honest about the actual speeds. My ground-floor room was noisy because of guests above. It was old and worn, the fridge was barely cold, the shower fittings were broken, the toilet leaked, and the room smelled of mold. Maybe I just got unlucky, but this is a very basic, tired guest house. The price didn’t match my experience, and in my experience you can find better for less in Sanur.

During my 15 days in Sanur for my Instructor Development Course and diving Instructor Exams, I found the crew friendly and plenty of dining options nearby. There’s an express laundry shop right next door and several dive centres within walking distance. Just remember this guest house doesn’t take card payments, so bring cash. Great place to stay.

The bar across the street gets very loud at night, so bring earplugs. My room was spacious, neat, and clean, and the attendants were very kind.
