Solvana Villas Sanur by AGATA

We left as soon as we saw the villa. It was dirty, smelled awful, looked unfinished, and the pool wasn't usable. The area felt like a construction site, with no market nearby, and the place is beside a major highway, far from the center and beach. I'd booked through Booking for my last week in Bali based on the reviews, though I don't know who wrote them. I had also got a bad feeling from their communication before arriving. Rocky, the staff member, was kind and helpful, and had nothing to do with the problems. I contacted management to explain that the villa was dirty, the pool couldn't be used, and I couldn't spend my last week in Bali there with my two kids. Their replies were shockingly rude. They said I'd left without giving them a chance to fix things. The villa was clearly unacceptable on arrival, and I shouldn't have to give them a chance to make it right. We argued about a refund. I said I didn't want to leave a complaint, hoped they'd improve and maintain the villa, and would let them keep the first night's payment since we'd blocked the room that day. I asked for the rest back. They said I couldn't threaten them and wouldn't refund a single cent. I was angry about how rude they'd been, so I told them they could keep the money but I wouldn't stay quiet because I didn't want others to have the same experience. They replied, "thank you for your confirmation," then canceled my reservation and blocked me from leaving a review. Even though I'd paid, they immediately listed the villa for new bookings again. I couldn't believe it. Don't book this villa. It felt like a complete scam.

We stayed for more than 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. The bed was comfortable, the staff were helpful, and the beach was just 7 minutes away. There was local food around too. We'll definitely come back.

Rocky looked after us really well. A great place to stay.

The villas are quite far from the city center, and they weren't very clean. There were children's handprints on the windows and dirt in several places. The kitchen had swarms of ants, and the sofa was uncomfortable. Though only a year old, the villas already have defects from the cheap furniture they bought. Renovations went on all day, and the owner didn't seem to take responsibility for the disruption. At checkout there was nowhere to leave our suitcases, which was a real nuisance with an evening or night flight. The helper there is a sweet, nice boy, but he has to answer to a boss who isn't open to constructive feedback. A shame.
