Villa Umbrella

A really nice little hotel tucked on a hillside above Senggigi. You’re away from the busy town, with nature sounds and a laid-back feel, but it’s still only about a two-minute drive away. The owner was very friendly and took time to make us feel welcome. A good spot to unwind for a night or two after Kuta.

That view was one of the best we saw on the trip, and waking up to it was such a treat. The pool was great too, and the owner seemed like a genuinely nice guy. The room looked beautiful, though the sheets had stains and the doors didn’t shut all the way, so bugs could get in. My girlfriend’s a bit of a germaphobe, haha. We were also served a warm beer at sunset, and there didn’t seem to be other drinks available. Maybe they’d run low on stock. Still, we had a great stay and I’d happily recommend the place. Dinner by the pool and the decorations in our room made Christmas away from home feel really special. It felt like staying with family, and the views from the window, pool, and pretty much every part of the hotel were incredible. The staff were lovely, kind, and ready to help with anything, and the owner was just as nice. I honestly haven’t had a hotel experience like it. I’d stay again and again. You really won’t be disappointed.

We loved watching the sunrise and sunset from bed, our private balcony, or the pool. The views were incredible, and the staff were just as wonderful. They helped us make an online purchase before we arrived and sorted out confusion with our ferry booking by talking with the ferry company. Breakfast was tasty and generous. We ordered takeaway for dinner to try some more unusual local food, and the staff kindly put out placemats and cutlery. Minibar prices were about the same as the shops, so grabbing a Bintang was easy. We really enjoyed our stay.
