Grand Wisata Hotel

The pool wasn’t clean and was basically unusable, and the food on the breakfast menu arrived cold. The hotel is showing its age, though the first impression on arrival is good and the rooms are quiet. We found it one of the best hotels we stayed at in Flores. Standard rooms have coffee and tea facilities, a nice bathroom with hot water, good mattresses, AC, and a decent breakfast area. It falls short of what it could be and could be improved easily, but it’s still fair value for the money.

The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet, with hot showers and aircon. The bed is huge and cosy. The breakfast is so-so, but there’s plenty of it, with local choices and toast. The swimming pool seems clean and is big enough for a swim. Bats come to drink after dawn, and the water isn’t chlorinated, so be sure to shower before and after using it. The interior is nice too. The smoke-free lobby smells good and is kept at a comfortable temperature, and there’s even an indoor garden. Not much atmosphere, but comfortable.

The room is pretty comfortable, even though it’s quite small, and the breakfast was surprisingly tasty. The internet connection is patchy. It’s all very basic, and I think they need to rethink the hotel’s aesthetic.

I think this is the best option in Ende. We’re a couple and asked for a king bed, but were given separate beds. Breakfast didn’t have many choices, there’s no pool and no view. Given what you get, I’d consider the price high.
