The bed was fine and the air conditioning was strong, and being right by the busy road out of town was convenient for us. It was also very noisy, though, and the Google Maps photos made the place look better than it felt during our one-night stay in an AC room. The bathroom needed a thorough clean, and the shower head’s wall mount was broken, so we had to hold it. The curtains left gaps at the window edges, so we had to be careful while changing. The owner was friendly, but we didn’t find him very helpful. A mixed experience.

We felt very safe in Ende, including on our long walks along the beach between the city center and the house. The family here was friendly and really helpful, and the homestay was clean and near the beach. Breakfast was very good, and water, coffee, and tea were available all day. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed just one night. The room was spacious but not clean, with used soap left in the shower and a dirty sink. Tea and coffee are offered, and there’s a nice view from the terrace.

The location worked well for heading west, with the westbound bus station nearby. The room was spacious for the price, clean enough, and had AC. I’d give the room four stars because the bathroom wasn’t quite perfect, but the guy was so helpful and friendly that it made up for that. Staff were really welcoming, spoke good English, and replied quickly on Google chat.

The road outside gets a bit busy, so mornings were somewhat noisy. Light sleepers might want earplugs. Still, we’d stay here again, especially after arriving in Ende on the 31hr Ferry from Kupang, when it feels like a palace. The staff were friendly and helpful, matched a low scooter rental price we found, and arranged a comfortable travel car and driver, one of the minivans, to Maumere with some locals. It cost less than the loud minibuses. Our tiled room and private bathroom were clean, with a bum gun and western style toilet. There are aircon rooms, good Wifi and tv, and free water from the cooler. Breakfast was included and good, with an egg sandwich, fruit, ginger coffee, and tea. The place was easy to find, near the beach and some good downtown restaurants. Definitely go to Tingal 2 for a cheap, delicious lunch.
