Wisma Yasmin Syariah

The local feel is a big part of Yasmin. It has a homey Sundanese atmosphere and is a decent place to rest, though it isn't Hilton-style. Being right by a major road means passing cars can get noisy, which may bother light sleepers. Otherwise, Garut's chilly nights make it easy to fall asleep, even when summer temperatures dip below 10 degrees. We always stay at Yasmin when we're in Garut since it's practically our parents' house, but to be fair, its central location is another reason. It's close to places around town, including surabi pengkolan, a local must-try that became our favorite breakfast. Ask the staff and they'll bring it to your door in the morning. The alternative is lining up with the crowds in the freezing cold at 5 a.m. The bigger hotels, Santika and Fave, are outside the city in Cipanas, so staying at Yasmin is a good way to spend time blending in with the locals. You get that experience here.
