Our group felt uneasy from the start because two men were hanging around near our remote rooms. We later learned they were security, but nobody had told us, which was unnerving for a group of young women. The balcony and side doors in my room also wouldn’t lock, so anyone could have entered. The rooms are reached by hopping over stepping stones, which could be a hazard for anyone with mobility issues. There were basic hygiene problems too. My room felt damp, including the sheets, and the bathroom bin in my friend’s room was filthy and smelly. We reported it, but it still wasn’t cleaned. Water was limited to two tiny bottles per room each day, and staff said there was no more available to buy on site. The food was poor as well: my margarita pizza seemed frozen and reheated, and one friend was served a rotten coconut they said was over a week old, with no fresh replacement. The resort seemed badly understaffed. When we raised these issues, the manager was arrogant, got angry on the phone, and threatened to come confront us at 11 PM, though we had asked him to address things in the morning. The stay left us feeling unsafe, disrespected, and deeply disappointed. I won’t return, and I’d tell others to look elsewhere.

The views are lovely, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. It’s a beautiful jungle setting, but the hotel is so secluded that there isn’t much to do beyond staying on site. That was nice for a while, then I got bored. The outdoor bathroom looks pretty, though all the bugs make it a bit odd. There was some mould in the room, which I can understand in the jungle, but it still wasn’t great. The bath water wasn’t hot enough to stay warm, although it was fine for a shower. Mosquitoes came out at night, so they should have incense or coils available. I also thought the no outside food rule was a bit silly. I did like their no-children policy, haha. Mostly, I enjoyed the place for the views and beautiful surroundings.

What I miss most is the atmosphere and the delicious breakfasts. After four days here, I moved to a hotel in another city and cried because I missed them so much. I’d only fly back to stay here next time. The grounds are spacious, green, tidy, clean, and lovingly cared for, with an abundance of plants and wildlife. My room had a huge bed, a lovely clean robe, original slippers, and an open-air bathroom. I was amazed by the architecture. The staff were especially polite and friendly, even though I’m picky about details. A big thank you to them, and to the driver who met me at the airport and showed and explained the streets and neighborhoods on the way, then took me to some beautiful places. I’ve never been so delighted with a hotel. God loves this place.

The villa’s driver helped us see lots of beautiful places, and there are also walks around the rice terraces. You can choose from activities at the hotel, including romantic breakfasts and baths, so there’s plenty to do even if you prefer to stay in. We loved our room and the villa garden. Everything was beautiful, clean, and tidy, and the food was delicious and nicely presented. The staff were incredibly kind and went beyond what we expected. Thank you for the warm hospitality. We’d happily recommend Adiwana Dara Ayu Villa.

ADI went above and beyond, taking us wherever we asked, including driving us to the volcano at 3 AM for sunrise. The private pool was beautiful, and the sound of water running through the night was heavenly. The communal spaces are stunning, especially the infinity pool and restaurant. Our villa was in a lovely spot and beautifully appointed, and we loved the outdoor bathroom. The walls and doors could use a fresh coat of paint, which would make cleaning easier. The grounds and gardens are kept beautifully without looking stiff or overly manicured. The team comes through quietly, gets the work done, and moves on without you noticing. Staff were always smiling, helpful, and quick to respond when called. They were professional while still being warm and friendly. It’s a perfect place to switch off from the outside world and settle into peace and nature.
