Bumi Kinar Skylight

I was traveling alone, and the room view was breathtaking. The service from the staff was top notch, and I enjoyed the food and spa too. The place is huge, but there’s a buggy when you need one. It’s a bit of a distance from the entrance to reception. The style mixes heritage with modern.

The food was fresh, tasty, and beautifully served, and I loved the small touches too: fruit on arrival and chocolates at night. Those gestures made the stay feel warm and memorable. The setting is calm and lush, blending naturally with the surroundings. My room was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Staff were friendly and quick to respond. When I mentioned that the bathroom drain was a little clogged, they fixed it right away. A lovely place to unwind and reconnect with Ubud’s peaceful side. 🌸

We spent two nights here for the UWRF. The start was rough, but the staff and management handled things well in the end. The grounds are lush, the festival went well, and breakfast was cooked to order in a cafe with a nice setting. We booked a heritage room and check-in was smooth, though a receptionist’s comment about guests next door coming and going for UWRF didn’t sit well with us. Since we were attending too, we’d have appreciated a more welcoming mention of the festival. After we returned around 11 PM, the broken electronic lock kept us out. My husband urgently needed the toilet. Reception couldn’t open the door, and the technician was a poor communicator: he didn’t answer our questions properly and at one point left without explaining what was happening. We were tired and cranky, and it took 30-40 minutes before they got the door open with a manual key. The hot water also wasn’t working, which staff confirmed, so we asked for a room with a working door and hot water. They moved us to another villa, and we were happy there, until the bed frame or legs broke just as I was about to lie down. We were speechless. By then it was past midnight, and we were moved again to the modern skylight room. It was impressive, and everything worked except the TV. We’d definitely recommend that room. Before checking out, we apologized to the staff and technician for being short with them on our first night. We were exhausted.

We loved it so much that we came back on a full moon and watched it from bed beneath the starry sky. It was even more breathtaking the second time. We first stayed at Bumi Kinar in Ubud for our wedding anniversary and were struck by its serene beauty. The skylight design creates a magical mix of nature and comfort, and the personal service made us feel cared for, with every detail thoughtfully arranged. An unforgettable experience.
