Hani Hideaway

We’re already saving up to come back to Hani Hideaway. The restaurant was the best we ate at on our trip, with lovely evening meals and breakfasts so delicious and generous that coming home has felt like a letdown. I’m still thinking about the food, maybe Indonesian fusion, though I’m no expert. We also felt completely at home in this tucked-away oasis just off Gili Air’s busy main street. The gardens were lush, the design details were beautiful, and the restaurant had luxurious sofas to relax on. As a sculptor, I especially loved the sculptures and masks around the property. The people made the stay, too. Every staff member seemed to really care and was friendly, fun, and eager to make things better for us. Peng, Johnny & Adi went above and beyond. The care they showed says a lot about Hani’s training and culture. It was the most expensive place we stayed on our Indonesia trip, which also included Uluwatu, Gili Meno and Nusa Lembongan. Still, it was by far our best experience and worth every penny. Thank you to everyone at Hani Hideaway for such a wonderful stay.

The people at Hani Hideaway made our family feel welcome as if we belonged there. Their warmth and attention were sincere, and leaving after six unforgettable nights was emotional. We were a family of four with two teenage boys, and this became the most beautiful and meaningful travel experience we’ve ever had. We already know we’ll return. We had two rooms, both spotless, beautiful, and perfectly equipped. Every detail felt considered, and the calm, comfortable rooms made it easy to relax. We also loved the food. Breakfast felt like a celebration each day, and the dinners were sublime, among the best meals of our whole journey through Indonesia. You can taste the chef and kitchen team’s passion and skill in every bite.

The property is beautifully put together, with a sense of style that could have come straight from Instagram. We felt at home each day, thanks to the peaceful atmosphere, comfortable room, and welcoming staff. The restaurant is a lovely place to eat, with delicious food. I’d happily recommend it even to people who aren’t staying here. We had an amazing stay and are already thinking about coming back for longer next time. 💛

The setting was peaceful even though the hotel is central, and it’s only a short walk from the harbour. The staff were warm, engaging, and ready to help with anything. We felt at home there. The food was delicious, with fresh choices and local flavours. Our favorite was the Beef Rendang, and the dining area was as charming as the rest of the property. We stayed in the Hani Suite, which was beautifully designed with traditional and contemporary touches. It exceeded our expectations, and everything we needed was provided. The lagoon pool was a highlight, perfect for a refreshing dip after exploring the island. The communal areas were well designed too, with room to relax or mingle with other guests. After weeks looking for somewhere to stay on Gili Air, we stumbled across this boutique hotel and found it just right. Every detail added to a welcoming, stylish, relaxing atmosphere. We can’t wait to return and would recommend it to anyone looking for a gorgeous island escape.
