Khas Tugu Hotel Yogyakarta

The location is great, with lots of places to eat nearby, and the room price is good value. The hotel itself is pretty ordinary, though. The room, bed, and breakfast were all average, and some things still need improvement. For instance, the shower room by the swimming pool was broken.

The breakfast was awesome, and we loved the breakfast room. The hotel is very comfortable, just a three-minute walk to Jl. Mailboro, and all the employees were really nice. Our room was clean, and when there was a problem in the bathroom, they fixed it right away.

We arrived before check-in and waited for lunch at the hotel restaurant. It took over an hour to arrive, and only came after we followed up with the waitress. The fish and chips and satay were cold despite being described as freshly cooked, and the fried rice was too salty. We complained, and the hotel did waive the meal charge. Breakfast was so-so. The salad had only four vegetables, and when the vegetable bowl ran out, it took ages for them to refill it. The bathroom had strong water pressure, which was the one bright spot. Our non-smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke, and when we reported it, staff sprayed air freshener instead of offering to move us. They said all the rooms were full. It wasn't a good experience.

The views are lovely, and I’d happily recommend this hotel. I’m looking forward to staying here again and enjoying the local culture. Thanks, khas tugu, that was fabulous!
