Markisa Villa

I've been coming to Gili air for 7 years, and this is my favorite place to stay on the island, the best I've tried. The private feel and thoughtful design make it easy to relax. I especially appreciated the high ceilings, practical layout, and little functional touches, like double-clicking the lights to change from white to yellow. As a designer and as someone looking for an easy, relaxed stay, I loved those details. The staff are very helpful, and it's right by the best food spots with easy access to the rest of the island.

The garden, with all its bamboo, was a highlight for our group. We also had a spacious kitchen, comfortable beds, and a pretty big, lovely pool. Grand Markisa was the best place on our Indonesia trip. The villa is very nice and close to plenty of restaurants and shops. I'd definitely recommend it for a group trip to gili air!

I've stayed here a lot over the years, and the service has been amazing. The new villa has a washing machine, which is super handy. The air conditioning is much stronger than at other places, and there are ceiling fans too, depending on what you prefer. Wifi is good if you need it.

The yard here has both a pool and a lawn, which you don't often find on Gili. Inside, there's a combined kitchen and living area where we could hang out during the hot middle of the day. All the wood gives the villa a warm, inviting feel, and the fixtures make it feel more elevated than other places. We were visiting Gili Air with friends and have been there a few times. This was the nicest place we've stayed. Highly recommend it!
