Salili Bungalows

The bungalows were a decent size, with private outdoor seating and a partly open-air bathroom. The wildlife could hear my shower singing! Breakfast was basic, though the fresh juices were nice. The beach location is great, and nearly all the staff were very friendly. One grumpy older guy ignored us after we didn't book boat hire through him. Even after we asked him to arrange a horse for 7 the next morning, it apparently wasn't booked, so we had to rush to catch the boat.

The rooms were awful, and when we paid, the receptionist charged us twice the website price. They said it was our problem for not checking beforehand. I’d give this zero stars if I could. Scammers.

We stayed a few nights and felt the price matched what we got. It's neither one of the priciest places nor the cheapest, and we gave it five stars for value. The beach is lovely, the location is great, and there's a nice pool. Staff were helpful, and having breakfast included each morning was a great way to start the day.

We booked two beach-facing bungalows for five nights in January 2025. Since it was the low, rainy season, the grounds looked a bit bare, which was understandable. The beds were comfortable and had mosquito nets. It felt like a safe area, with restaurants, diving and snorkeling, bars, and coffee shops nearby. From Gili Air jetty, it's a 15-20 minute walk, or a horse-and-cart transfer costs IDR150-200k. Breakfast was simple and freshly cooked, and the pool was clean. They cleaned the rooms and changed towels whenever we asked, even daily if needed. The one real drawback was the shower, which had weak water pressure. Given the price, location, and kind of holiday we wanted, we had a good stay and would book again.
