Sayang Mama Inn by OYO

The pool is really good, and the rooms are clean with good air conditioning. There’s a smart TV, though it’s a bit small, but good enough. Breakfast wasn’t great for vegans, so I made myself eat an omelette, which I enjoyed. The big problem was the ongoing noise, especially during my first two days: a chainsaw, the mosque, and drilling. The chainsaw stopped on day three, but then an evening bonfire left smoke over the whole hotel for two hours. Most of the day you’re out, of course, but trying to relax by the pool was unpleasant and a bit of a chore. Hopefully you won’t have these issues when you visit, because without them this would easily be five stars.

The room gets 5 out of 5 from me: comfy, cosy, and romantic. The shower loses a couple of points, as the limescale and corrosion need some attention, but there’s hot water and a really good lemon shampoo kit. The staff were very hospitable and helped with everything. Try the freshly cooked egg omelette at breakfast. It’s free for guests, and you can choose your fruit juice.

Sayang Mama is in a quiet area, away from the city center but close to the best snorkeling spots. We had a great stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we could use the pool next door. Our hosts were lovely, answered our questions, and shared lots of tips. They also arranged a great snorkeling tour for us. Breakfast was very good, and you can rent bicycles to explore the island. Thanks again, we’ll definitely be back next time! 🙏

There’s free water refill, and you can rent a bike here, both really handy. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help. They also did a wonderful job with our laundry. The place is well maintained, with a beautiful, clean pool and a good range of breakfast options, juices, coffee, and tea. It’s affordable and a lovely place to stay, so I’ll definitely come back. ☺️
