Scallywags Joglo Villa

The pool was lovely, a real pleasure. The ordered breakfast was awful: pink yogurt with bad fruit that we all spat out, plus a large spoonful of granola, all in individual plastic boxes. For coffee, they provide a small pack of Nescaffe for you to make your own, even though Lombok coffee is so good and local. On the second night, the room’s TVs couldn’t show Netflix because payment was missing. Nobody emptied the full bin in the kitchen area. The fingerprints and other marks on the fridge and freezer doors were obvious when we arrived and were still there throughout our two-night stay. The walls in the private kitchen, eating, and sitting areas are painted black, which felt really grim.

The villa is very nice, and the rooms are quite comfortable and clean. The bathrooms are open, so if it rains, you’ll be showering in the rain. The main issue is that it’s right beside the Mosque of Gili Air. Five times a day the Muezzin calls at an extremely high volume, waking you at night. During my three-night stay, I was woken every night.

The ambience at your beautiful beach club was lovely, and our stay was made so comfortable by your warmth and hospitality. Scallywags, you deserve full credit, especially since you’d only restarted operations this month, after the devastating earthquake. Thank you all, and three cheers. We definitely recommend this private villa. The bedroom was very good, and the home furnishings were good too. Having a private pool and sunbeds is a must if you want an alternative to the beach. Bikes were included for the whole stay!
