Kokomo Resort Gili Gede

We were sorry to leave after six fabulous days. Gili Gede is lovely, and there's a nice walk around the northern headland if you enjoy walking. The villas are luxuriously equipped, with housekeeping popping in twice daily for a quick spruce-up. The restaurant food was fantastic, and the cheerful staff always greeted us with big smiles. Service was amazing throughout, with whatever we wanted seeming to arrive before we'd finished asking. We also enjoyed snorkelling straight off the jetty, with equipment supplied by the resort. We loved our stay and would happily return to Kokomo if we're back in Lombok. If you like being spoilt, we'd highly recommend it.

Arriving in a small boat and seeing Hassan waiting for us on the jetty was a magical moment. The staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming, and thoughtful touches made a difference, like free kayaks, paddle boards and snorkelling gear, plus a glass of cold water wherever we sat. We also jumped at the chance to upgrade for a nominal fee to a private villa with its own pool. The hotel pool looked fabulous too, with views out to sea. We had a fabulous stay at Kokomo.

On Sunday our guide took us snorkelling at three spots, where we saw loads of fish and sea creatures, blue coral, and a giant sea turtle feeding on the reef. What an amazing experience. We arrived the day before and Hasan welcomed us warmly. He speaks English well, and the ocean view was breathtaking. I was surprised by how spacious the 1BR Pool Villa was. The rooms were very clean and made for a relaxing stay. Friends arranged a surprise birthday dinner for four at the end of the jetty. After a tasty meal, we were lucky enough to see the moon rise. Thanks to the Kokomo team for such a wonderful night. We had to leave very early Monday morning, and Hasan arranged our airport transfer, including the boat to the mainland and the drive to Lombok Airport.

We liked it so much that we cancelled two nights somewhere else to come back to Kokomo. It's peaceful and blissfully tranquil, with no motorized vehicles, and everyone was happy. We could use the kayaks, SUPs and snorkelling equipment for free, which let us explore different spots at our own pace. Our villa had everything we needed: lots of space, air conditioning, a small private outdoor pool, sun beds and a patio. It was clean and just right for our stay.
