The beach is nice, the restaurant food is okay, and the staff are friendly. The rooms look dated, though they were fairly clean. Our room smelled quite bad when we first arrived, but airing it out for a few hours with the door and window open helped. The bathroom could use some extra maintenance.

The rooms are clean and have air conditioning, but there’s no hot water. It’s a relaxing beachfront spot, with a beautiful view toward Gili Air and Lombok, including the mighty Rinjani volcano. The sand is pure white.

Kontiki sits in an ideal spot on Meno, with what I’d call the best beach and snorkelling across the Gilli Islands, all in a lovely tropical garden setting. The presentation is unsophisticated, but the staff and beach make for an enjoyable stay. The harbour and other places to eat are only 400m away. Most guests were European.

The place looks okay, but I believe the reception staff are involved in fraud. There’s an ATM nearby that swallows foreign cards, and the man at reception demands 600 000 idr to return one. Don’t pay these fraudsters!

The beach is lovely, but the bungalows are old and very basic. There’s no hot water, the bathrooms need refurbishing, and it isn’t good value for money.
