The hospitality was amazing, and the location is really nice, even if it can be tricky to find. Keep walking until you pass a green school, then look for the bungalows tucked behind trees. It worked well for us as a budget stay. Breakfast was very good, especially the pancakes, and you could have it on your balcony. The air conditioning was weak but okay if you’re not fussy; the Wi-Fi didn’t work properly, but, well, you’re on an island. There are lots of cats, and plenty of chickens wandering near the bungalow. My sister was scared of them, and they can make noise in the morning. I’d recommend it if you’re not too picky, but it’s not the place for couples after a romantic stay.

The owners were so lovely and made us feel right at home, and we had a wonderful three-night stay. For one of the island’s cheapest places, it offers a lot beyond the basics. Our bungalow seemed almost new, with lovely white bedding, curtains, and a mosquito net against the dark wood. You can have breakfast on the terrace or at the restaurant for an extra 15000. The banana pancakes were lovely. There’s also a shop and restaurant just around the corner. Eat there if you can, the cooking is very good and the prices suit budget travelers. The only downside was the very poor Wi-Fi, though being on an island, you can’t expect too much.

The room was okay for the price, and we could live with the Wi-Fi cutting out or the air conditioning breaking. The staff, though, made the stay unpleasant. They tried to check us out a day early. We showed the booking details, and they walked away with a dismissive wave and no explanation. When I went back to reception to ask if there was still a problem, they ignored me and were rude. Check-in also came with little introduction for most guests, and there wasn’t much of a goodbye either. One person seemed glued to their phone and didn’t want to talk. That was a first for us in Bali and Lombok. For the price, those room issues were manageable, but the staff were no help. You get what you pay for.

A pretty classic budget Asian bungalow, with a lot to like despite the quirks. It’s spacious, clean, cozy, and has plenty of glass for sunlight, plus curtains to block it out. The Wi-Fi is slow. Electricity can cut out for a couple of hours, so you might wake up sweating when the air conditioning dies. There are just two sockets, and they’re together in one spot in the room.

An affordable, decent option for backpackers. It’s near the harbor, about a five-minute walk away.
