Marc Hotel Gili Trawangan

The place itself is lovely and the location is perfect, which is why I booked it directly with the hotel a few weeks ahead. But when I arrived, the pool was empty for planned maintenance and I hadn’t been told. The upper floor was also undergoing major renovations, with banging starting at 07.30 and continuing all day. They should have advised me about this, or given me the option to cancel.

I need to make a formal complaint about serious problems during my stay. The bed in my room was in extremely poor condition, and I found what I suspect were bed bugs. I was bitten in several places all over my body, leaving redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort. It affected my rest and caused me physical harm and psychological distress. A hotel has a basic responsibility to keep its guest rooms and beds clean and hygienic. This experience badly damaged my trust in your hotel and affected my stay overall.

The port is literally next door, with loads of bars and restaurants around, and the staff were lovely, friendly, and accommodating. Breakfast was really good, and the infinity pool had a nice view. The band playing at the restaurant was exceptional, definitely worth a visit. Drinks were good, while the food was okay. Our rooms had a funky smell, so there’s room to improve there, but we had a really good stay overall.

We spent five nights at Marc Hotel Gili T and were glad we chose it. It’s right in the center, just steps from the beach, shops, and restaurants, and the price felt like good value for the location and quality. The rooms were clean and well cared for, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Most days we lounged by the pool, which had a great atmosphere and comfortable loungers. The hotel’s drinks were tasty, and live music each evening added to the relaxed but lively feel. Breakfast was good, though I’d have liked more variety. We’d happily come back and recommend Marc Hotel to anyone visiting Gili T.
