Rooms get cleaned every few days, and they offer laundry. The price is good for the quality. Like most places on the island, the water is a little salty and isn't heated. The area felt safe. I left my bike unlocked for weeks and had no problems.

The place has a well-equipped kitchen and lovely staff. Misella met me at sama sama with staff to help with my luggage and show me the way. My room had a spacious new bathroom, a queen bed, and 240v power with Indonesian connections. The satellite TV had lots of Indonesian, German, English, French and Russian channels, with movies, news, kids' cartoons and lifestyle shows. Someone was always around, which made it feel secure. It's only about five minutes on foot from the main beach, but far enough away to be quiet, and a great market and diner are almost right next door. I'm here for three weeks, the rates are really good, and communication before I arrived was good too. Definitely coming back.

For the Gilis, the price is “affordable,” but it's a bit remote, and cleanliness is another matter entirely. The staff, though, were super friendly and helpful.
