Panda Cottage - Hostel

Really disappointing. The room was damp-smelling and the AC barely cooled it, and the receptionist was unhelpful. Agoda said late check-out was available until 12:30 for an extra fee, and we had already paid through Agoda, but the hotel told us to leave by 10:30. They also charged IDR 50,000 for electricity just to charge our bike, without making that clear beforehand. When we asked about the extra late check-out payment through Agoda, staff said they didn’t know. The information from staff was poor, and the hotel is far from the beach.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there’s a swimming pool too. What I’ll remember most, though, is Aqila. She was so friendly to talk with and swap stories with that she became my friend, even though we’re from different countries. At reception, the woman welcomed our group with a big warm smile and cold drinks. 🤩🙏

Hotel Panda was a peaceful place to sleep, with a comfortable bed and AC that worked well. I had a pleasant, odor-free room on the first floor, and the night was quiet. The bathroom was a little damp, and the water pressure was somewhat weak, though there was plenty of hot water. Breakfast from the hotel menu was delicious. Drinking water was unlimited, and they could provide hot water for coffee or a knife and fork if you asked. The hotel rented bikes at a very good price, and the chairs and table outside the room were lovely for relaxing. I skipped the pool because the sea was so amazing, with fish and turtles waiting for me every day. The staff welcomed me warmly with smiles.

My friend and I enjoyed our stay. Agus and the staff were so welcoming, and we’d come back again. The pool was very clean, and so was the room. It could use a little improvement, but everything was fine. Thanks for having us, see you next time.
