Villa Kayla Hotel

The only real plus was that it stayed quiet at night. I wish I’d read a review like this first, because I wouldn’t have booked here. The yard felt like a work site, with an unfinished house and things scattered on the ground. Lots of people came to a hut there, sometimes sleeping or showering in the empty room. The homestay was left in the hands of a teenager who didn’t speak English. Even sorting out breakfast was exhausting, and by the time he understood what we wanted, none of it was available. The menu mentioned fruit and toast with jam, but we got uncooked banana pancakes every day instead. There was no fruit, no toast, and no jam. He showed us a muddy menu. I don’t blame the kid, but it’s a shame they left him to manage all this. The air conditioning didn’t work for two days. He gave us a rusty fan, which wasn’t enough. After two days he called the owner for permission to move us to another room, and we did move. They made the bed every day, but I’m not sure the sheets were clean. I saw the same sheet we’d slept on in the previous room.
