Paradesa Villa

The two pools are beautiful, and the one with the bar is outstanding. The drinks there are superb and worth trying. Jeff, Antony, and all the staff were kind, helpful, and genuinely cheerful, making us feel at home. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Pardesa Living has great vibes and facilities, and I highly recommend it.

The nasi goreng and mie goreng were much better choices than the American breakfast. The jam in the morning wasn’t good, and if you’re even slightly sensitive, the American breakfast may make you sick. At 1.1 mill a night, I expected more, even though the room itself was beautiful. The hot shower cylinder lasted only 210 seconds. The pool is lovely, but there’s a big rusty pot right in its heart, which feels like the heart of the hotel too: nice, but a bit tired. They called the pot “ethnic chique” when I mentioned it. The place next door, Gilli Desa, is 300k a night and seems to pay more attention, exceeding its lower expectations through care and attentiveness. I’ve seen other hotels use a system for guests to say whether they want their sheets changed, which saves water and money. This place claims to be ecofriendly, but when I suggested that, I got defensive passive aggression. Fine, you do you, but I won’t spend my hard-earned money or carefully considered thoughts here again. Yes, I have impossibly high standards 😅

We stayed two nights and had a great time. The price was pretty affordable for the good service, and the staff were kind. There were lots of caterpillars, but with so many trees around, that made sense and they weren’t really a bother. We booked online, and the AC room was ready before we went in.

It’s a comfortable, quiet place and the service was very good. I didn’t get a kettle or refrigerator, and the water heater wasn’t working properly, but the staff treated us well.
