Scallywags Resort

The beachfront location was so convenient, just a walk from the harbour, with restaurants and marts all around. Our room was beautiful, and having a water cooler was a nice touch. There were lots of tasty breakfast options too. The staff were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help. I’d definitely stay again!

We especially liked the location, a short walk from the jetty and right at the edge of the restaurant and district. It was also a short walk to the surf and swimming beach. The room was clean and well serviced, and the outdoor shower was a favourite. Staff went out of their way to help, and the BBQ dinner with its selection of salads was just right for us. Loved everything about this accommodation.

The breakfast was good, with plenty to choose from. We moved out of the Beachside Bungalow because it wasn’t actually on the beach, the rooms were old, and the mattress sat on cement. The newer room farther back in the resort was better. I also didn’t like the lack of a privacy curtain or tint on the main doors. I wouldn’t swim in the Pool. Check the photo's in booking.com: it’s where they take divers for their first test run, and it’s right by the bar, so you never know what’s in it.

During this visit, I stayed for four weeks because I added a trip to Lombok to my usual Gili stay of about two weeks each year. The nice garden room I booked on Agoda wasn’t the room I got. I asked repeatedly for the one I had reserved, but they said there was no room to offer because it was an Indonesian anniversary. Then MADE, who seemed to be in charge, upgraded me to a room with a swimming pool. MADE was friendly throughout my stay, and the dinner was excellent. The BBQ here was fresh and reasonably priced. I’m checking out today and heading north. Thanks to the kind staff, and especially to MADE.
