The hotel’s poor ratings from last year seem a shame. It was renovated, and I stayed there last week. I found it great value for money, with an excellent pool, clean but simple rooms, and kind staff. It’s right by one of the island’s best beaches. It’s a bit far from the harbour, but peaceful and away from the loud clubs at night.

Sadly, it wasn’t what we expected. The wall in our room was cracked, and the atmosphere overall just wasn’t nice.

There were mosquitoes everywhere, in the room and outside, so sitting in the yard was difficult. The nearby mangroves, beach trees, and damp surroundings may be the reason. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're concerned about getting malaria. Service was poor, and the pool was dirty. Think carefully before booking.

It’s quiet here, though quite isolated, so renting a bike is a good idea if you want to explore the island. The rooms are clean and tidy, and there’s air conditioning for an overnight stay. Beyond that, the place feels run down and hasn’t been renovated in some time. The pool looks uninviting, there’s no Wi-Fi, and the power and running water were temporarily unavailable. The staff seem to be doing what they can, but they’re often hard to find.
