I had to switch resorts in the end. This was one of the worst stays I've had, with staff who were no help at all and seemed to have no understanding of basic guest concerns. The AC didn't work from the start. Rather than fix it, staff brushed it off by saying the room “felt cool” to them. There was no hot water for showers either, and the room smelled unpleasant. The food was unacceptable, with dirty cutlery and coffee already spilled onto the plate. Getting help was difficult: there was no telephone in the room, and the number they gave me was useless because nobody answered. Sleep was impossible too, since the walls weren't soundproof and loud music from other rooms carried on late into the night. A deeply frustrating, disappointing stay. I strongly advise against booking this resort.

The people were the best part of our time at The Trawangan resort. Toga, Ambu and Ram are lovely, helpful people, and the manager deserves congratulations for putting together such a great team. After a month on Gilli T, I can say that a nice hotel means little without good management and kind people. Their hospitality and humanity really stood out. The hotel itself is nice and well located, and we had a wonderful stay. We'd come back. Thank you all!

We'd happily recommend this hotel and have stayed here before. It's right on the beach, with surfing just outside, yet set away from the noisy area. The rooms are big and clean, the location is excellent, and the staff are great.

Ambu and Dani deserve a special thank you for their wonderful hospitality. The service was amazing, everything was clean, and the hotel is lovely, a perfect distance from the city centre. I'd recommend it 10/10.

Spacious rooms with lovely ocean views, a beautiful beach, and friendly staff. The AC worked well, and there was a fridge and kettle in the room. My only gripe was that room cleaning and housekeeping weren't done in a timely way.
